About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1912/13 (S21), Game 2: Victoria vs New South Wales

Victoria vs New South Wales
Melbourne Cricket Ground
26th-31st December 1912

Lineups:
Victoria- EV Carroll, JA Seitz, VS Ransford, J Ryder, WW Armstrong, FA Baring, NE Brown, TJ Matthews, JL McNaughton, W Carkeek, WH Cannon

New South Wales- VT Trumper, EL Waddy, HL Collins, RB Minnett, JC Barnes, GS Moore, PS Arnott, BJ Folkard, SH Emery, RJA Masie, CG McKew

First Innings
New South Wales' batting did a number on a bowling attack that was expected to be their equals. The fourth wicket partnership took an age to break up, but when Victoria got the two dangermen out the bottom half of the order fell for 103. But a lot of damage had already been done.

NSW 548
EL Waddy 186; JC Barnes 115
GS Moore 56; RB Minnett 54
WW Armstrong 4-117; J Ryder 3-125

Another unexpectedly poor bowling performance allowed Victoria to also pass the 500-mark. The fourth wicket partnership proved vital for both sides, but with Victoria building on it through the next few wickets before a collapse of the tail.

NSW 548
VIC 504
WW Armstrong 141; VS Ransford 112; NE Brown 60; TJ Matthews 56; J Ryder 51
SH Emery 4-73; RB Minnett 3-135; RJA Massie 3-159

Second Innings
NSW fell from 273-2 to 278-7 before rallying. The middle order struggled mightily as Victoria found a way through. They were helped by some overly-aggressive batsmen; both stumped for a duck trying to lash away the spin deliveries of WH Cannon.

NSW 548 + 412
VIC 504
HL Collins 136; RB Minnett 80
WH Cannon 4-18; JL McNaughton 4-129

Victoria might well have won this if just one high-order batsman had performed to his abilities. As it was, Victoria fell short of a winning score despite a seventh wicket stand. Once that was disrupted, the final three batsmen again failed to surprise and deliver.

NSW 548 + 412
VIC 504 + 391
EV Carroll 133; NE Brown 74; WW Armstrong 65; TJ Matthews 50
SH Emery 3-72; RJA Massie 3-125

New South Wales win by sixty-five runs
