About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1919/20 (S23) Game 6: South Australia vs Victoria

South Australia vs Victoria
Adelaide Oval
27th-28th February, 1st-3rd March 1920

Lineups:
South Australia- A Smith, CE Pellew, GM Hone, PD Rundell, VY Richardson, LV Pellew, AJ Richardson, HHM Bridgman, NL Williams, EL Phillips, JWE Schultz

Victoria- ER Mayne, RL Park, VS Ransford, CB Willis, WW Armstrong, J Ryder, AW Lampard, AG Moyes, AW Liddicut, JL Ellis, LT Mullet

First Innings
The opening partnership of 80 would not make up for the South Australia's general dysfunction this season as Victoria searched for a good win in order to successfully defend their title for the first time. This was a good start to their quest as the skittled the home side with plenty of playing time remaining in the first day. AE Liddicut took out the first three in the order on his way to a good innings tally.

SA 231
CE Pellew 56; A Smith 36
AE Liddicut 5-54; LT Mullett 3-61

The normally reliable ER Mayne was trapped lbw by AJ Richardson as soon as play restarted, but a trio of high scores had Victoria in pole position for the match and the Shield. RL Park outlasted four men, including a pair of decent scorers in VS Ransford (42) and WW Armstrong (43), but even his score would be beaten by his final partner. South Australia tried their best for nearly forty-eight hours but it was Victoria themselves that put a stop to the pain.

SA 231
VIC 614-7 dec.
J Ryder 166; RL Park 160; AG Moyes 125*
NL Williams 2-123; EL Phillips 2-141

Second Innings
South Australia may have been big whipping boys this season, but no-one told PD Rundell to stop playing as he helped put up another 300 runs on the board during his spell at the crease. Once Victoria dealt with him, and his longest lasting partner VY Richardson, they had little trouble with the second half the order, even taking the scalps of LV Pellew and AJ Richardson for ducks.

SA 231 + 434
NSW 614-7 dec.
PD Rundell 164; VY Richardson 81
LT Mullett 4-111; AE Liddicut 2-81

ER Mayne was again dispatched very early on, but it took an outrageous piece of fielding at mid-on for EL Phillips to claim him. The second partnership worked well together again in the match, but had they done enough to pip New South Wales to the post and win the title on the QR tiebreak?

SA 231 + 434
VIC 614-7 dec. + 52-1
RL Park 25*; VS Ransford 18*
EL Phillips 1-24; AJ Richardson 0-28

Victoria win by nine wickets.
