About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CDR: 2009 Funny Car United Association Route 66 NHRA Nationals - Elim #1

JOLIET, Ill. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 1 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 12th annual United Association Route 66 NHRA Nationals:

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 8 R Tim WILKERSON Mustang 0.098 4.603 295.5
L 9 L Daniel WILKERSON Impala 0.093 6.537 201.5

After being seperated in qualifying by just five-thousandths, the first meeting between the father-son duo did not show a passing of the torch as Tim had it wrapped up when the younger Wilkerson shut it down near the line due to a major malfunction.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 7 R Ron CAPPS Charger 0.103 4.484 287.0
L 10 L Mike NEFF Mustang 0.106 9.077 75.5

Ron Capps cruised home after the two-time finalist's vehicle worked against Mike Neff.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 11 L Jeff AREND Solara 0.125 4.675 295.0
L 6 R Jack BECKMAN Charger 0.096 5.461 262.5

Jack Beckman's record in races is now 0-6 after his second defeat of the season to Jeff Arend. Beckman struggled past the tree while the eventual winner kept it clean and consistent throughout.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 5 R Jack WYATT Firebird 0.095 4.089 310.8
L 12 L Bob BODE Impala 0.118 13.109 31.0

Former semi-finalist Bob Bode lost his seventh straight race thanks to more technical issues on the track. Jack Wyatt picks up his second race victory of the year, his first all the way back in event one over Brian Thiel.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 1 R Robert HIGHT Mustang 0.124 5.254 302.3
L 16 L Mike SMITH Monte Carlo 0.118 10.531 58.0

The woes continue for losing drivers with Robert Hight reaching the quarterfinals on this occasion by default.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 2 R Ashley FORCE-HOOD Mustang 0.086 4.050 298.3
L 15 L Bob GILBERTSON Stratus 0.069 4.345 281.5

Force-Hood continues her good form and gets another monkey off her back by winning in her third race against Bob Gilbertson. The closest race so far saw Ashley pull away a third of the way down the track despite the better start from her opponent.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 4 R Bob TASCA III Mustang 0.088 4.227 306.8
L 13 L Matt HAGAN Charger 0.100 4.590 286.5

Since Matt Hagan reached three finals, winning two, he has failed to claim a victory. Bob Tasca III takes a 2-1 lead in meetings between the two racers and only took this victory through a very strong finish after Hagan looked to be homeward bound.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 3 R Tony PEDREGON Impala 0.056 4.539 299.0
L 14 L Grant DOWNING Monte Carlo 0.101 11.959 44.3

Grant Downingcan feel good about himself after qualifying in two straight events since missing out on seven straight, but he is still winless in all three events he has made the top sixteen. The championship leader had wheelspin to contend with early on but corrected enough to put in a faster time than his next opponent.

(2)* Ashley Force-Hood vs Ron Capps (7)
