About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CDR: 2009 Funny Car United Association NHRA SuperNationals Elim #1

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 1 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 40th annual United Association NHRA SuperNationals:

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 8 L Jack BECKMAN Charger 0.100 4.055 304.3
L 9 R Del WORSHAM Solara 0.104 4.678 288.0

The first meeting between these two was a see-saw battle. Beckman had the better start to the tree but he needed to find his better finish in order to defeat Del Worsham.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 7 R Ashley FORCE-HOOD Mustang 0.099 4.394 289.5
L 10 L Leif HELANDER Camaro 0.112 11.116 42.0

Two qualifications for Helander and two defeats to Ashley Force-Hood, both due to mechanical failure. Things started badly for the loser with a sluggish start, and he was left in no position to take advantage of some late wheelspin from Force-Hood.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 11 R Bob TASCA III Mustang 0.102 4.012 313.3
L 6 L Mike NEFF Mustang 0.090 4.386 304.5

Despite a superior start, Mike Neff has now lost four races on the bounce since reaching the final at the Thunder Valley nationals, losing to Tasca III for the second time this season. Both drivers were neck and neck until the finish when the victor kept it clean and fast.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 5 L Jeff AREND Solara 0.083 4.962 290.5
L 12 R Brian THIEL Monte Carlo 0.104 5.553 258.0

Brian Thiel is 3-7 on the year after some minor mechanical issues held him back off the starting line, leaving Jeff Arend to reach his fourth quarterfinal this season; his second in a row.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 1 R Bob GILBERTSON Stratus 0.033 4.000 300.8
L 16 L Terry HADDOCK Stratus 0.123 9.974 69.3

Terry Haddock's first foray into racing this year ended badly when, after watching Bob Gilbertson disappear right from the start anyway, his car almost gave out completely with a load bang. Gilbertson washes the bad taste of the previous two rounds with an the fastest time of the event.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 2 R Tony PEDRAGON Impala 0.080 4.004 304.3
L 15 L Jim HEAD Solara 0.108 4.810 290.0

Through eleven events now Tony Pedregon has only lost in the first round three times, taking the scalp of Jim Head for the first time this season. A slight hiccup in Head's Solara was enough to upset his flow early on, allowing the great start of Pedregon to head off into the distance.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 4 R Ron CAPPS Charger 0.104 4.645 290.0
L 13 L Justing SCHRIEFER Camaro 0.091 5.453 263.5

Another debutant in the world of successful qualifying spun the tyres past the tree to let Ron Capps off the hook after some momentum trouble of his own.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 14 R Tim WILKERSON Mustang 0.125 4.567 299.5
L 3 L John FORCE Mustang 0.065 7.163 176.0

Tim Wilkerson has an easy time moving his head to head record with John Force a 2-1 advantage when Force nearly went wildly off track struggling to correct his wheelspin.

Second Elimination Round Schedule (Asterisk indicates fastest driver in previous round and gets the lane choice)
(1)* Bob Gilbertson vs Jack Beckman (8)
(2)* Tony Pedregon vs Ashley Force-Hood (7)
(4)* Ron Capps vs Jeff  Arend (5)
