About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CDR: 2009 Funny Car Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals Elim #1

MORRISON, Colo. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 1 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 30th annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals:

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 8 R Bob GILBERTSON Stratus 0.090 5.533 248.5
L 9 L Justin SCHRIEFER Camaro 0.088 11.566 45.5

Bob Gilbertson survived a troubled start as he had to cope with some severe wheelspin, but by the time he had recovered Justin Schriefer had already closed it off.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 10 L Gary DENSHAM Impala 0.086 4.356 305.0
L 7 R Robert HIGHT Mustang 0.097 4.771 278.0

Robert Hight also experienced wheelspin in the right-hand lane but this was enough to cost him the win. In tying the series between the two at 1-1, Gary Densham wins his second race of the year in five attaempts.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 6 R Jack BECKMAN Charger 0.119 4.386 287.5
L 11 L Mike SMITH Monte Carlo 0.123 No Time N/A

A second race win in 2009 also went to Jack Beckman in his tenth contest of the season, cruising home after Mike Smith's car went out in a puff of smoke.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 12 L Matt HAGAN Charger 0.126 4.058 294.0
L 5 R Tony PEDREGON Impala 0.114 5.510 263.5

This is the third time that the championship leader has lost in the first race of an event, and the first time in three races that Matt Hagan has got the better of him; the winner earning some revenge for the final result back in the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals event. Tony Pedregon was not close to his top form here.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 1 R Bob TASCA III Mustang 0.062 4.352 293.5
L 16 L Jerry TOLIVER Monte Carlo 0.083 4.476 294.5

Since reaching the semi-finals in the first event of the year, Jerry Toliver has qualified three times, going on to lose in the first race. His  form continued in his first meeting against Bob Tasca III with more wheelspin for the man out on the right side of track.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 15 L Mike NEFF Mustang 0.111 4.531 283.0
L 2 R Jim HEAD Solara 0.088 10.981 56.0

A great qualifying session did not translate to a great race for Jim Head as his clutch caused his retirement against two-time finalist Mike Neff.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 4 R Ashley FORCE-HOOD Mustang 0.089 4.036 292.3
L 13 L Jack WYATT Firebird 0.107 4.803 294.0

The fastest time of the first round goes to Ashley Force-Hood who was in full control from start to finish. Jack Wyatt is 3-7 this season.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 14 L Del WORSHAM Solara 0.108 5.248 274.3
L 3 R Daniel WILKERSON Impala 0.116 12.079 31.8

The "other" Wilkerson was competing in only his fifth race and it was immediately apparent that something was wrong with Daniel's machine off the start. Del Worsham reaches the quarterfinals for the sixth time in '09.

Second Elimination Round Schedule (Asterisk indicates fastest driver in previous round and gets the lane choice)
(1)* Bob Tasca III vs Bob Gilbertson (8)
(4)* Ashley Force-Hood vs Matt Hagan (12)
(6)* Jack Beckman vs Del Worsham (14)
(10)* Gary Densham vs Mike Neff (15)
