About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1924/25 (S28) Game 2: Victoria vs South Australia

Victoria vs South Australia
Melbourne Cricket Ground
21st-22nd, 24th-27th November 1924

Lineups-
Victoria- ER Mayne, WH Ponsford, WM Woodfull, HSB Love, FA Tarrant, HSTL Hendry, AEV Hartkopf, AE Liddicut, JL Keating, JL Ellis, PH Wallace

South Australia- AJ Richardson, GW Harris, NA Walsh, VY Richardson, DE Pritchard, CV Grimmett, FK Gould, EGC Wainwright, TW Wall, AM Ambler, GH Palmer

First Innings
Both sides shuffled the deck and changed the look of their lineups for the return match. Victoria struck early when FA Tarrant took care of GW Harris (9) lbw, and it was the same bowler who dismantled the resulting partnership between AJ Richardson and NA Walsh (63), but not before they surpassed their half-centuries. AEV Hartkopf then took his three wickets in quick succession, VY Richardson the highest scorer in the 4-6 slots with 36. Step up FK Gould with South Australia on 203-5 and he would only be removed (bowled by AE Liddicut) to make the score 400-9. One member of the tail, AM Ambler, also pitched in with his 57 runs.

SA 429
FK Gould 117; AJ Richardson 83
AEV Hartkopf 3-86; FA Tarrant 3-96

In the first match both WH Ponsford and WM Woodfull made good centuries in Victoria's win over SA, but AJ Richardson and CV Grimmett took care of them respectively for ducks leg before wicket. HSB Love just made it to double-figures before he was stumped and it fell upon the shoulders of three men to make things respectable at least. Surviving opener ER Mayne and FA Tarrant made a partnership of 119, the latter pairing up with highscoring HSTL Hendry for another 40 runs before he too was stumped.

SA 429
VIC 376
HSTL Hendry 111; FA Tarrant 86; ER Mayne 69
AJ Richardson 4-80; CV Grimmett 4-123

Second Innings
FA Tarrant again took the wickets of GW Harris (2) and AJ Richardson (8) for lbw, but NA Walsh and a rampant VY Richardson surely took the game beyond Victoria's reach. A 263 run effort from them ripped up their opponents' gameplan. CV Grimmett (61) and FK Gould (92*) made good scores, but DE Pritchard would have been disappointed at not putting up any runs at all when there were many to be had.

SA 429 + 659-6 dec.
VIC 376
VY Richardson 352; NA Walsh 127
FA Tarrant 3-174; HSTL Hendry 1-55

WH Ponsford (8) was out again cheaply lbw off AJ Richardson, but WM Woodfull made up for his previous effort and reached another century. HSB Love also improved but FA Tarrant (20) and HSTL Hendry (0), in his second match since moving from New South Wales, failed to impress. AEV Hartkopf did what he could but the tail wasn't up to being dragged along, leaving both sides with a win and a loss against each other.

SA 429 + 659-6 dec.
VIC 376 + 367
WM Woodfull 114; AEV Hartkopf 76; HSB Love 68
TW Wall 4-66; GH Palmer 2-65

South Australia win by three-hundred-and-forty-five runs.
