About M.E. myself and I

My photo
Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CDR 2009 Qual #2 - Virginia NHRA Nationals

DINWIDDIE, Va. - RICHMOND - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, Fourth annual Virginia NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

The title contenders are #1 and #2 at the midpoint of qualification. Bob Tasca III .043 seconds faster than Tony Pedregon. Ashley Force-Hood is beat up a little as she drops from second to sixth, overtaken as she was by Del Worsham, Robert Hight and Tim Wilkerson.

Three men enter the top sixteen: Brian Thiel, John Force and Bob Bode all improve from obscurity to thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth respectively. This bumps down Jack Wyatt, Grant Downing and Jim Head while Jeff Arend hangs on in there in sixteenth place.

Detroit's losing streak goes to three as they have now lost four of their five games against the Blackhawks this season, and all three in Chicago. The second line got things going through Bill Hay's seventh before Detroit went into the intermission tied thanks to Norm Ullman (5) and his second powerplay goal of the season.

The Red Wings got themselves into penalty trouble, allowing Stan Mikita to add a couple more points to his total including an incredible sixteenth powerplay tally out of his twenty goals. Detroit pulled back one through another late goal, this time Lowell MacDonald (2) finishing off the move, but Murray Balfour grabbed his second point of the night with an insurance goal in the third period.

Boston's second trip to the big apple was a losing effort in the battle of the backups and Milt Schmidt's first game in charge. Bob Perreault suffers a fifth defeat in his fifth appearance this season, and Michael Paille picks up a win in just his second game.

The Bruins outshot the Rangers in both the first and third periods, but only managed a goal in each. John Bucyk (5) in the first and Jerry Toppazzini (3)  in the third. These goals merely served as bookends for the match-winning displays from the New York Rangers third line of Vic Hadfield, Jean Ratelle and Ken Schinkel combing for eight points, the latter of which has primarily been working on the blueline.

The Bruins have a quick turn around for revenge as they take the Rangers back home tomorrow as part of a full schedule of games.
