About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CDR: 2009 Eliminations #2-4 - O'Reilly NHRA Mid-South Nationals

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 1 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual O'Reilly Mid-South Nationals presented by Pennzoil:

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 1 L Tim WILKERSON Mustang 0.081 4.014 300.3
L 8 R Mike NEFF Mustang 0.094 No Time N/A

Mike Neff's sixth foray into the quarterfinals (3-3) this season ends in near disaster as a blown tyre sends his car careening down the track, wildly out of control. Until that moment Tim Wilkerson was in a real fight for the race win, but his survival ensures his first semifinal appearance in six events when he won the Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 5 L Matt HAGAN Charger 0.097 4.016 304.8
L 4 R Ron CAPPS Charger 0.079 4.348 297.0

One of the regular rivalries this year completes another chapter with Matt Hagan taking a 5-3 lead in the season series to earn his sixth quarterfinal victory in twelve attempts. Ron Capps is now 16-20 in all races this year with eight losses at this stage in eleven QF's.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 10 L Tony PEDREGON Impala 0.090 4.300 309.0
L 15 R Bob TASCA III Mustang RED No Time N/A

It was inevitable that these two would continue to meet as the season draws to a close and this is the third meeting in the past four events. It could also be the one that ultimately decides the title race. Bob Tasca III red lights for an automatic disqualification, allowing Tony Pedregon to extend his championship lead and claim his fortieth race win of the season.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 6 R Ashley FORCE-HOOD Mustang 0.081 4.203 308.3
L 3 L Robert HIGHT Mustang 0.108 5.223 284.8

Both drivers have failed to qualify on just two occasions, but this is the first time they have met. Ashley Force-Hood enjoyed a better start than her opening race victory and carried that all the way to the finish. This fine run, coupled with Robert Hight's poor showing, denied him his third semifinal in 2009.

SEMIFINALS

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 5 R Matt HAGAN Charger 0.056 4.040 308.8
L 1 L Tim WILKERSON Mustang 0.086 4.564 290.0

The third matchup between these two is the first time Hagan has come out on top with a very good time in an unfavoured right lane for his fifth final of the year. Tim Wilkerson has now raced in eight semifinals, losing three.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 10 R Tony PEDREGON Impala 0.084 4.295 286.5
L 6 L Ashley FORCE-HOOD Mustang 0.091 4.492 285.5

After battling throughout the first half of the season, this is just the second race between these two in ten events. It went as many of the others did with a Tony Pedregon win to extend his series advantage to 7-2 and go on to his seventh final. Ashley Force-Hood is 9-10 since winning the United Association Route 66 NHRA Nationals where she defeated Pedregon in the semifinal.

FINAL

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 5 L Matt HAGAN Charger 0.090 4.626 287.0
L 10 R Tony PEDREGON Impala 0.091 4.626 280.0

Another regular opponent of Tony Pedregon is Matt Hagan and this latest race could be the race of the year. Pedregon edged away just a little once they were past the tree, but Hagan inched back all the way and earned himself the smallest of holeshot victories. Matt Hagan has now won four of his five finals; the same amount of wins as Pedregon in his seven.
