With Koboyama's win in his third straight day in Makuuchi action it was down to Saisu, as a slight underdog, to defeat Tochitsurugi and win his second consecutive tournament. Takamisugi and Hakuryu end in a relatively distant joint-third place as the only other men to reach double figures in wins.
