About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

DICE Hockey - NHL 1962-63 Playoffs April 2nd

Tuesday April 2nd 1963
Detroit Red Wings win best-of-seven series 4-0

1st 2nd 3rd OT3  T
(2) MON 1 1 2 0  4
(4) DET 2 2 0 1  5

The sweep is complete but Montreal showed a lot of fight to come back from 4-2 down late in the third period, taking the game into triple overtime. Detroit scored the opening goal for the first time in the series; Gordie Howe only lighting the lamp twenty-six seconds after the initial faceoff. A goal eight seconds before the buzzer made it 2-1 Red Wings, Marcel Pronovost cancelling out Henri Richard's equaliser.

Detroit won another period 2-1 through Parker MacDonald with his fifth and sixth goals of the postseason to tie teammate Howe in that category, but handsomely leads the NHL in points with thirteen. After Claude Provost found the net late in the second the Canadiens were able to build some momentum in the third period by first killing two minor penalties, then scoring on a powerplay of their own. After Richard's goal on the man advantage it took only twenty-three seconds for Montreal to make it 4-4 with less than four minutes remaining.

The shots going into overtime were 40-39 in favour of Detroit and, despite Montreal having the bulk of the shots in the first overtime period, it was the Red Wings who looked most likely to score; Jacques Plante making no less than five remarkable saves before he was finally beaten on the one-hundred-and-thirty-first shot of the match in the one-hundredth-and-seventh minute.

Toronto Maple Leafs lead best-of-seven series 3-1

1st 2nd 3rd T
(1) CHI 1 0 1 2
(3) TOR 0 2 1 3

The Prince of Wales winners are now one game away from elimination as Toronto takes a 3-1 series lead back to Chicago on the back of another deeply impressive outing from goaltender Johnny Bower. You could have believed that Maple Leaf Gardens was on a tilt as the Leafs netminder was barraged in both the first and third periods, enjoying a reprieve in the second as Toronto enjoyed much of the play at the opposite end of the rink.

The respective top scorers of their teams Stan Mikita and Dave Keon opened their playoff accounts, Mikita scoring the games first goal on the powerplay; Keon tying the game at 1-1 also on the man-advantage. There would be nine powerplays in all but, despite Mikita grabbing a second late in the game from Pierre Pilote's assist and team leading fourth-point, it would be the other Toronto centers who won the match. Billy Harris scored on a breakaway for his third goal on home ice this series, and Ron Stewart claimed his second game-winner since game one.
