Consolation Heat

The opening was full on with four cars in particular taking the brunt of the hits: Ben Hadsell, Matt Welliver, Jess Yates and Jason Ingle the targets for almost half of the hits through the first five minutes. They were the first to fall but Bambi Rogers survived a stall only to be taken out by Darryl Lozier, and Timmy Barnes found himself surrounded by a small pack that had John McCrory as it's ringleader.
With second place man Hadsell out of the running it was a good opportunity for the standings leader Will Thompson to increase his championship lead but he was unable to reach his fourth final, an untimely miss opening him up for McCrory's coup de grace. Scott Hutchins was hounded out of a place in the final contest of the day by a relentless Chris Henton who was finished off just prior to his favourite victim.
Darryl Lozier is the highest ranked driver in the VDM final at third position after qualifying out of the consolation heat for the second event running. He will be joined by Steve Redden who was blindsided by both Hutchins and the final qualifier John McCrory who himself looked down and out before anyone else had been eliminated but managed to keep rolling all the way to the final twelve.
